Step into the world of Ann Cleeves’ brilliant creation, DCI Vera Stanhope. With her trademark mac and hat, Vera has captured the hearts of millions in ITV’s much-loved detective drama. Now you can follow in her footsteps on this full-day guided Vera film locations tour of Northumberland by coach.

Filmed across Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East, Vera showcases some of the region’s most striking landscapes. This tour takes you along the dramatic Northumberland coast to Lindisfarne (Holy Island), Vera’s fictional home, as well as to Amble, Warkworth, Alnmouth and the majestic Bamburgh. You’ll also journey through the wild and beautiful Northumberland hinterland to discover some of the show’s more remote filming spots.

Over the course of the day, you’ll visit more than 15 real filming locations featured across ten series of Vera. There will be regular stops to explore key sites up close, take photographs, and enjoy breaks in charming coastal towns. Expect a morning stop in Alnmouth, lunch in Bamburgh, Seahouses or Lindisfarne, and shorter afternoon breaks along the way.

Your Vera adventure begins and ends in central Newcastle. Please note that, depending on tide times for Holy Island, the route may run in reverse order.
