NORTH EAST
ENGLAND

DISCOVER OUR  STUNNING REGION

North East England is a place of unique character, a perfect blend of city and countryside and can easily be named Britain’s hidden gem.

Ranging from unspoilt sandy beaches and breathtaking countryside landscapes to vibrant cities rich in culture and history, this region is home to two UNESCO World Heritage Sites and has recently been voted by Rough Guides & Lonely Planet Blue List as one of the top destinations to visit worldwide.

The region is one of the most diverse you can find. We really hope the following pages give you a small flavour of why we love our region so much… Here are just some of the highlights:

Multi day trips of Northern England Durham Coast

DURHAM CITY & THE COUNTY OF DURHAM

One of the most magnificent sights you will ever see is when walking up the hill towards the majestic cathedral & castle, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our guides are experts at offering the best views, stories & insights into this beautiful, easily navigated city with its hidden (yet perfectly positioned) spots to enjoy a drink, find some peace or simply explore.

The county of Durham is something else entirely (we have a full section below on the Durham Dales but there is so much more!): Roman forts, stunning art, grand castles, idyllic villages, beautiful coastline – all coupled with tons of heritage for you to discover…

Hadrian's Wall tour; Roman Frontier

HADRIAN'S WALL & THE ROMAN FRONTIER

Hadrian’s Wall is the most northerly Roman legacy & frontier: Enjoy several forts, stunning countryside, amazing history brought to life & some beautiful little villages to uncover…

Why not book a hiking trip along this amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site with us or test yourself on a custom bike trip (decide on one or multiple days)!

Hadrian’s Wall can easily be explored in a day (in parts), however, to fully immerse yourself in this beautiful part of the Northumberland National Park, the ideal is to spend several days here. We work with some great accommodation providers right along this ancient monument (one actually sits right on top of the old Roman stones)…

ALNWICK CASTLE & GARDENS

One of the largest inhabited castles in England, home to the Percy family since 1307, the castle is impressive in every sense of the word – likely most famous though as Hogwarts in Harry Potter or Brancaster Castle for Downton Abbey fans.
